A Special Day of Two Parts

Today was special...for both Lily Rose and Phoebe
Lily -Rose received a blessing today from her Granddad Page at the De Montfort Ward, where her uncle Matthew is the Bishop. Here is Lily Rose with her mum and dad and dressed in her finery for her special blessing day.

PART 2

Phoebe was 8 years old on the 11th December 2013 and so her baptism was on the following Sunday. Phoebe allowed Lily-Rose to be blessed on her special day and so it was an amazing family day. I made Phoebe her dresses she wore on the day and I was also asked to speak at her baptism, which was a great honour.

Lily-Rose Arrived

Sitting quietly on a Saturday afternoon and the call came.....Rachel is at the hospital. There appeared to be some concerns re the baby and so she ended  up having to have a caesarean section. Here are the first pictures and then we were able to Face Time. Modern technology is wonderful stuff!!!

Family Day at PrestonTemple

Matt & Zoe plus children and Rachel all met up at the Preston Temple. We arrived after a delay on the M6 and Rachel and I took charge of the children whilst the others went in the Temple, after having some pizza for lunch.
We took the children across to Botany Bay to see the Christmas things and they really enjoyed it and were very good. It got a bit tiring for Rachel.

Day 4- Tree Huggers Alert

So today Michael, Emma & Ruby headed off to the tree adventure park. We planted ourselves to watch the event.....
Needless to say Ruby was away like a shot (following the safety talk). A lady watching commented on her agility and athleticism and was gobsmacked when I said she was only 6!
Emma and Michael struggled a bit with the first part but were soon away.....
The end was a zip wire from the top of the tree (about 60ft) and Ruby was definitely enjoying herself.

On their way....

Ruby well on her way..

and just to prove Michael made it as well...... although I'm not convinced he wants to do it again!!!

Day 3- Still going

Thank goodness for the old persons quad bike, otherwise I would be two inches shorter with the distance we need to cover.

Day 2- The Water Beckons

So today we are all going to the pool......eventually, you shouldn't rush these thing. The children loved the pool and the adults enjoyed it as well. Especially those who found the flumes....

Day 1

Day1 started with Archery first thing, Michael and I took Genevieve in her push chair to find the archery point.......er someone forgot to tell me how far everything was and we were in one of the closer chalets......
However the archery was amazing and they really enjoyed it but Ruby had a bit of a meltdown and it appears she is not very well. Ruby has a croaky throat and is really hot.

They both managed to get enough points to win their Robin Hood hats.....

So another walk back but a little shorter route...at this point I knew why everyone had a bike...the problem being I cannot ride a bike I cannot keep my feet on the pedals (for whatever reason). Do nothing for it but to get as Daniel calls it an old persons quad bike.....

Our executive villa...with old persons quad bike....

Centre Parcs- Elveden

At last a holiday booked long ago has come around to enjoy. We headed off to Centre Parcs at Elveden near Thetford. We had a really good journey and we arrived before Emma & Richard had left Sawtry (I think). The downer was it was raining, no, not raining it was pouring and we had a bit of a walk not knowing the layout.
We had a look around as we awaited the arrival of the rest of the party and it stopped raining, its amazing how much better you feel if it stops raining.
The area is forested and looks lovely, with a lakeside beach. you never know we might get to use it.

So the question is...where's my lunch?

We all met up at the Pancake House and enjoyed lunch before unloading cars, unpacking and off the leisure pool where a good time was had by all.

Sunday in Cornwall

We awoke  to a heavy mist over St Austell, Michael went to the Priesthood session of conference and I had a leisurely morning.
At lunch time we went out for a ride and headed off to Looe. I had quite forgotten how tricky the road to Looe can be so we will make sure we use the main road back!
By lunchtime the sun was shining and we really had a lovely afternoon walking down to the seafront and watching everyone on the beach.

Nothing quite like an ice-cream at the beach!

The usual walk along the harbour edge

and the evening reception......

Whilst there was a small reception after the wedding the party really took off
in the evening. I do not think I have been in a smaller pub, it was heaving. Just look at the food!

My Cousin Got Married

Jason and Emma

After our litte jaunt to Padstow we got ready and went to Bodmin for the wedding of my cousin Jason Fuller and Emma.
This is Jason second marriage and I am delighted he has found such a lovely lady..he didn't stop smiling all through the afternoon.
The wedding took place at 4.00pm and then we went on to the reception in Lostwithial and had pasties and cake.

And...here is me in my outfit I bought ages ago and forgot I had....we are parked in the Bodmin Railway station as we were the last to arrive at the service and there was no where else to park..hence the railway carriages in the background.

Saturday in Padstow...and then

So we awoke to a beautiful morning at St Austell and decided to drive to Padstow and enjoy the day before the wedding at 4.00pm

The weather was truly lovely and we enjoyed a lazy walk around Padstow walking up to the war monument by the estuary and realising the path had been tarmacked amazing so much better.
As we sat admiring the view a couple stopped to chat and the lady said how wonderful my shoes were that they looked like I was wearing jewels on my feet...how lovely.

And just to prove how good the weather was.....

Yes me no cardigan or coat and it was lovely...

Cornwall October 2013

Well barely back from our extended holiday in the USA and we are off to Cornwall for four days to attend my cousins wedding.
We had a great journey down on Friday and took ourselves off in the evening to Mevagissy to try to get a light tea....as it was after 5.30pm no chance!

So...it was off to Tesco for sandwiches, crisps and fruit... but it was a lovely evening in Mevagissy.

Desert Botanical Gardens Phoenix

Beautiful day and we headed off (using google map) to find the Botanical Gardens in Phoenix. We did eventually find it but the road signs were less than helpful!
I was amazed by the sheer numbers of different plants and trees that can exist in a desert. There were beautiful colours and bees everywhere. Butterflies of various kinds were all over the place.

The intrepid tourist plus hat and bottle of water.....sooo hot

Out and About

Today we were up out and about and drove over to see how the construction of the Gilbert Temple is coming. We have seen the temple from the ground up and it is looking really good, hopefully soon to open. The land for this temple was donated to the church and the build costs were raised by local members.
A beautiful temple of the Lord.

After visiting the temple site we went to the San Tan Village and had a potter about......

Deseret Books call

We took ourselves to Deseret Books to have a look around and buy some small items. After a snack at the University Mall we headed to Rachael's and there we helped to tidy the yard. However as it is on a slope and large it took some doing......
In the afternoon the plan was to sit in the garden...the girls stayed with us whilst Rachael, Chris & the boys headed off to look for plants.
We cleared up the ground of dropped pears and then picked a bowlful for pie tomorrow......and then the rain started....and the wind whipped up.
So we headed in and watched  BRAVE a great film. Rachael & Chris got caught in the storm that flooded areas of Orem which was close by. One of the beauties of living on a hill you don't get flooded...

Provo Temple & Sundance

This morning we went to the Provo Temple to do a session. The weather was beautiful and the session was not too full. As the Provo temple is built in the round it felt quite strange walking around in circles.
After the session we went into downtown Provo to look at the new temple being built from the ruins of the Provo Tabernacle. It will be called the Provo Center Temple.

What the Provo Center Temple will look like.

We found our way to the University Mall for a much needed drink and snack...got a bit lost going back to the England's....

In the evening we went with the England's to Sundance Park...beautiful and whilst the England's had the their photos done we enjoyed a berry smoothie and the views. Here is the non professional photo of the England's.
