Severn Valley Railway

We headed off to Kidderminster today to find the Severn Valley Steam Railway...

We were in plenty of time for the 10.15 to Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

The train that pulled us was a steam engine.

Aren't they beautiful! On the journey we came through some smaller stations some of them very pretty.

We arrived at Bridgnorth and walked down into the Lower town, there was not much to see only the bridge but we found a pie and mash place- called Bamboo. We had a lovely steak and kidney pie with cheesy mash-very enjoyable.
Then on the funicular to get to High Town, which was a lovely market town and the market was on. Managed to not spend any money!!!!
On the river bank in Lower Town
A bit old and rickety but it did the job
 Lower town
 High town

We walked back along the castle walk to the park, the views were amazing, you could see for miles. We caught the 2.55 train back to Kidderminster- a lovely day and lots of trains.....
